I backed up and then recovered using Acronis and I changed the GUID of the PC, now will that effect microsoft office registration causing me to have to re register the product or is something else at play here?

Changing the GUID Partition Table may trigger a reactivation of Microsoft Windows if the activation count is high enough.

Office-wise, a hardware generation code is sent when you initially activate and it is known that Office can want reactivation if it decides the system has changed enough where it may not be running on the same PC again.
