Reinstalling XP can't boot from CD

I'm trying to use the XP-home repair feature but I'm having trouble booting from the cd. I tried following the instructions from the "how to repair" post but my bios screen doesn't give me an option to boot from the cd. I actually have dvd drives not cd drives if that makes a difference.
