NVIDIA Graphics card doesn't let me play games properly

Alright, this is getting really infuriating.

I can't play any good games on this computer without the graphics messing up on me. NONE.

The only good games I can play are the oens directly off of websites. Cant' even download games from the website and play them because the graphics mess them up mere minutes into the game.

If anyone has any suggestions - any at all - PLEASE let me know, aside from "get a new graphics card like such-and-such" because, to be flat about it, I can't afford a new one yet.

do you have the latest drivers??
if not get them, if so try rolling back.

I already checked. The NVIDIA website says that I have the graphics card (Geforce FX 5500) updated to the latest version.

I know you said you don't want people to tell you to buy a new video card, but when your running a >$40 card this is your only solution to play newer games.
