seems like i too have gotten the smitfraud. CURSE THIS WRETCHED THING!!! haha...just makin light of a messed up situation. anyways, after i got this problem, i got norton antivirus to try to fix things, but since it was already in my system, and seeing as how its a fairly new virus, norton didnt really do much (at least im protected for later...-_-).

then found this site (pretty cool place and much respect for all u geek u people) and have been lookin through some of the threads, like gettin that registry to help fix the background (at least that's fixed).

i've used the steps outlined, like using ad-aware se and spybot. also updated my cpu to sp1a. after all the scans, my internet still gets those crazy pop-ups, along with the icons that keep cluttering my desktop.

now i'm hoping one of you guys can check my hijackthis log for the solution. i would really appreciate it
