I have a Zyxel USG 300 Router and am unable to ping the router or access it probably 6 times out of 10.

Does anyone have any helpful tips to suggest researching out this problem?

I have a T1, and have Cisco 1841 from my ISP. That runs into a GB switch which then runs into the Zyxel.
The Zyxel then runs into a 24 port Dell GB switch.

My network is up and running fine otherwise. I can surf even though I can't get to the router. When I can't access it through the web browser, I am also unable to ping it.

sounds like there may be a corruption in the router..

when you can't ping it...can you not ping it from any machine inside the network?

That's correct. It doesn't matter which computer I'm on.

i'd make a wild guess and say you don't have a spare router on hand do you?

I apologize for taking so long to reply. I do think it's the router. I did a hard reset of my Zywall USG300 and then upgrade to the latest firmware. I am still having the issue. The router is also not saving settings and displaying other "funny" behavior. I've set up an RMA with ZyXEL and should be receiving the new one by week's end.

We'll see if that fixes the problem. Hopefully, just hopefully it's that easy. :-)
