Hi pashka,

Welcome to the site! :) My name's Matt T and I'll be helping clean up your computer. :) I'm currently looking over your log. I am still in training here, so there might be a delay between my replies as they need to be checked by an expert before I can post them. I'll need a bit of time to research your log fully, so please bear with me.
  • Some instructions may need to be printed off or saved for reference during the fix as some of the steps required will be done in Safe Mode, and you'll be unable to access this thread at those times.
  • To make sure that you receive an email when I reply to this topic, please click here and check that this topic is listed under Malware Removal - HijackThis™ Logs Go Here.
  • To come back to this topic easily, please bookmark it.
  • Please don't use any of the tools you download or try to fix your computer yourself without specific instruction. Some of them are dangerous and could damage your computer if used incorrectly.
  • Please work through the fix in the order it's posted, if you can't complete a step, skip it and tell me in your next post.
  • If there's anything you don't understand, you have a question, or you're unsure of the instructions please don't be afraid to ask and post here for clarification before proceeding with the fix.
  • When posting logs, please ensure Wordwrap is turned off in Notepad (to check, open Notepad click on Format | Uncheck Word Wrap)
  • Make sure you reply to this thread using the Add Reply button: Posted Image
In your next post, could you please tell me if you have a license for Symantec.

Regards
Matt

Hi pashka,

Posted Image 1) Disable Teatimer
  • Run Spybot Search & Destroy in Advanced Mode
  • If it is not already set to do this go to the Mode Menu and select Advanced Mode
  • On the left hand side, click on Tools
  • Then click on the Resident Icon in the list
  • Uncheck Resident TeaTimer and OK any prompts
  • Restart your computer
Posted Image 2) Uninstall Programs

Reboot into safe mode. Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode. Please go Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):
  • Anything with Viewpoint in it
Optional Removals
Viewpoint is foistware, which means it was probably bundled with another program you installed (most probably AIM) and you don't really want it on your system, I recommend you remove it, but it's up to you.

Please note any other programs that you don't recognize in that list in your next response. After removing the programs, please reboot back into normal mode.

Posted Image 3) HijackThis
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5CD90797-C0E2-436D-8E13-F357540F06AF} - (no file)
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AD86536F-B029-4790-B740-D1D59A6299D0} - (no file)
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [c8907458] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ugjyfjib.dll",b
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BMcba347c4] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jqptmsmr.dll",s
  • O20 - Winlogon Notify: iifdDVll - iifdDVll.dll (file missing)
  • O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe
Remove Viewpoint here if you chose to remove it above.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

Posted Image 4) Update Java
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.".
  • Click on Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop.
Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start | Control Panel | double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version. (Vista users, right click on the jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe and select "Run as an Administrator.")
Posted Image 5) Deckard's System Scanner

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, DSS will open two Notepad windows: main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
In Your Next Post:
  • The log from OTMoveIt
  • main.txt and extra.txt from DSS
  • Whether you have a license for Symantec
Regards,
Matt

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes I do have a license for the symantec. I am a college student at Penn State and most of the programs that I have are provided by the college. I will try to do all the steps as best as I can and will reply to this post with the required logs as soon as I'm finished. Thank You.

Hi :)

I don't know how to get the log from OTMoveIt or where to get it.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to include it in my last post.

Posted Image 1) P2P Programs

I see you have µTorrent and Napster installed on your computer. P2P programs in general are legal themselves, but much of the content downloaded with them is downloaded illegally. They are also a great way to infect yourself with malware. Due to this, I recommend you remove µTorrent and Napster from your computer.

Posted Image 2) Registry Fix

We're going to be working with the registry, this can be dangerous, but not if you follow my instructions exactly. First we need to save it so in the unlikely event something does go wrong we have a backup.
  • Download ERUNT
  • Install ERUNT by following the prompts. Use the default install settings but say no to the portion that asks you to add ERUNT to the startup folder.
  • Start ERUNT
  • Choose a location for the backup. Leaving it as the default is fine.
  • Make sure that at least the first two check boxes are ticked
  • Click Ok
  • Click Yes to create the folder.
This is so the registry can be restored to this point if we need it later. It may take a minute. Just let it go until it's done.
  • Open up Notepad (if you can't find it: Click Start | Run | type Notepad and hit enter). Copy and paste the following text into the blank document.

    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa]
    "Authentication Packages"=hex(7):6d,73,76,31,5f,30,00,00

  • Save the file to your Desktop as fix.reg (make sure All Files is selected when saving.
  • Go to your desktop and double click the new file. It will ask you if you want to merge the changes in the file with the registry, click Yes and you'll receive a confirmation message.
Posted Image 3) VirScan
  • Please go to VirScan
  • Copy and paste the following file path into the Suspicious files to scan box.
    • c:\windows\system32\drivers\a348bus.sys
  • Click on the Upload button
  • Once the Scan has completed, click on the Copy to Clipboard button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
  • Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.
  • Repeat the instructions, but this time upload:
    • c:\windows\system32\drivers\a348scsi.sys
In Your Next Post:
  • The results from VirScan
  • A fresh DSS log (you'll only get main.txt back this time)
Regards,
Matt

Hi, I don't think i have napster installed on my computer. I looked for it and couldn't find it on the add/remove programs.....

Here are the two virscan links, when i clicked on copy to clipboard nothing happened, so i copied the links and they seem to work because they go to my reports.

http://virscan.org/r...3ff4a9ea4e.html

http://virscan.org/r...6bbe5a399b.html

I got both extra.txt and main.txt back when i did the DSS scan again. so here are both of them

Hi,

We should get the reboot issues sorted shortly.

Posted Image 1) HijackThis
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [c8907458] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ugjyfjib.dll",b
Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

Posted Image 2) Malware Bytes

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply.
In Your Next Post:
  • The log from Malwarebytes
  • A fresh DSS log
Regards,
Matt

Hi,

Sorry about repeating steps, the bad entry that I'm working to remove should be gone after this.

Posted Image 1) Registry Fix

Open up ERUNT and create a fresh backup of the registry.
  • Open up Notepad (if you can't find it: Click Start | Run | type Notepad and hit enter). Copy and paste the following text into the blank document.
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa]
    "Authentication Packages"=hex(7):6d,73,76,31,5f,30,00,00
  • Save the file to your Desktop as fix.reg (make sure All Files is selected when saving).
  • Go to your desktop and double click the new file. It will ask you if you want to merge the changes in the file with the registry, click Yes and you'll receive a confirmation message.
Posted Image 2) HijackThis
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [c8907458] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ugjyfjib.dll",b
Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

In Your Next Post:
  • A fresh DSS log
Regards,
Matt

Ok, so I turn on my computer today, and decide to see if that file ----> O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [c8907458] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ugjyfjib.dll",b
is still there after I got rid of it yesterday on hijackthis and a couple days ago.... well it is still there.... i think it goes away for the time that the computer is on, then after you turn it off, it comes back... and the same trojans keep appearing after running the spybot or adaware right after the computer has been turned on... I have no idea how this is happening.

Also I get a RUNDLL error message when my computer turns on. This is what it reads;
Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\ugjyfjib.dll
The specified module could not be found

Also something that is weird is that I have to press ENTER to load the computer after I turn it on..... without pressing it, the computer just stays at the background screen with nothing loaded.

Here is the hijack this log again.... as you can see the file that you told me to select and click fix checked on is still there after removing it 5 or more times now. Hopefully we can get this fixed.
