Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and it's my first post also. I have a problem with trojans. I know I have more than 1. I have followed most of the advice from the previous threads and think I've managed to help remove some of the trojans/spyware, however there are definately still some stubborn buggers left. :)
These are the alerts I'm getting now from windows defender alert:
trojan-spy.win32.keylogger.aa
Trojan-Downloader.win32.agent.bq
Trojan-spy.html.bankfraud.dq
Trojan-clicker.win32.Tiny.h

I've ran spybot, xoftspy and I did have shield pro 2008 until yesterday - all scans do not find and remove the remaining trojans.

This is my hijackthis.log:

Hi there I would like a deeper look at your system as the miscreant is hiding some data Grrrrrrrrr.....

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

OK they weren't hiding you just have a very lean machine

There are a few folders I would like to investigate

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    1. Please open Notepad
    • Click Start , then Run
    • Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.

    2. Now copy/paste the entire content of the codebox below into the Notepad window:

    DirLook::
    C:\Users\All Users\benilcni
    C:\Users\All Users\acthlp
    C:\Users\All Users\AppComSrv

    3. Then in the text file go to FILE > SAVE AS and in the dropdown box select SAVE AS TYPE to ALL FILES

    4. Save the above as CFScript.txt

    5. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below. This will start ComboFix again.

    Posted Image

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Hi mate
I'm trying to do what you asked, however there is a windows error when i try and drag the CFScript.txt into combofix.
Please be advised i'm not an expert with all this and there are a couple of things i should ask.
when i download combofix onto my desktop do i doubleclick the icon to install the program or what?

' Please open Notepad
Click Start , then Run
Type notepad .exe in the Run Box '

I've opened notepad but there is no start button. Or are these instructions something to do with installing combofix?
i have free edition of avg so i've disabled avg resident shield like required, the icon in the tray has turned grey with a red exclamation mark. I cant disable the ant-spyware component in avg. It still remains active.
My firewall is zonealarms pro. Do i right click icon on tray and shut it down to disable it - or are some components still running?
Would it be easier to uninstall avg and some of the other anti-spyware products in order to complete this exercise then reinstall them later?
Sorry for all the questions

Sorry about the bad reply I was dragged out urgently but I'm back now

1. Please open Notepad
Click Start , then Run
Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.

These were instructions on how to open notepad if you were not sure ( we must cater for all levels of knowledge)

windows command processor has stopped working.

Would suggest that something is blocking that programme, although DSS reports comspec as OK

Could you open the following folders and let me know the name of one or moore files resident in there

C:\Users\All Users\benilcni
C:\Users\All Users\acthlp
C:\Users\All Users\AppComSrv

Let me try another programme for the moment whilst I see what else the problem could be

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Hi thanks for getting back. I appreciate your help.
I unistalled avg and adaware incase these programs were the problem with combofix - still not working tho.

I hope I haven't wasted your time - but i have noticed i'm not getting any windows alert anymore about keyloggers or greenscreen. Even when i connect to the internet the warnings no longer appear. However when i do an online panda scan the results show i have 5 trojans still. Thot i'd let you know.
The folders you asked me to find:

C:\Users\All Users\benilcni - folder is empty
C:\Users\All Users\acthlp - folder is empty
C:\Users\All Users\AppComSrv - folder is empty

Here is the MBAM report log:

    • Reg - File Associations
    • File - Additional Folder Scans

That looked clean. I will repair the associations and clear your temps. Then we will run Dr.Webb to be sure that you are clear

Start OTScanit. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

[Registry - Additional Scans - Non-Microsoft Only]
< File Associations - Select to Repair > -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\<extension>\
YN -> .bat [@ = batfile] ->
YN -> .cmd [@ = cmdfile] ->
YN -> .com [@ = comfile] ->
YN -> .exe [@ = exefile] ->
YN -> .pif [@ = piffile] ->
YN -> .scr [@ = scrfile] ->
[Empty Temp Folders]

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new Hijackthis log.

I will review the information when it comes back in.

Also let me know of any problems you encountered performing the steps above or any continuing problems you are still having with the computer.

THEN

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
