[FrontRunner]

My pc is infected with a trojan and shows a exclamation mark in the Icon Tray. Showing up popups with searchem.net in it. Showing the same warning as described in this thread : http://www.geekstogo...showtopic=13620 I have read a couple of topics showing possibly the same problem, but i´m afraid to use the solutions mentioned in those topics.

I went thru all the steps as described in the You Must Read This.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\bin\npjpi150_01.dll

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\intmonp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\popuper.exe

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.

Seems like the system got rid off the Exclamation Trojan. I dont know how or what (as i got Ad-Aware SE and McAfee Security Center running), but i got a new problem with the name of Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c. I will make a new thread for this one.

That warning sounds like some ad trying to scare you into buying a rogue program.
