We recently purchased a Gateway notebook with a Windows Vista operating system. Last week we encountered adware that kept redirecting us to ad.yieldmanager.com/st?ad-type-iframe. I downloaded "Hijack this" and removed the BHO-Browseraddress redirector and the ad yield manager pop up went away.

Unfortunately, now I cannot access websites on this laptop. I keep getting messages that Internet Explorer cannot access the site. It doesn' happen on every site but on a good majority. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hijack this is not for inexperianced users. It can be very dangerous in the hands of the unknown. With that said, have you tried a restore back to before you used hijack this?

If restore works, then it will also bring back your redirect. We can deal with that by going to our malware forum to be cleaned up (link in signature).

Oh, and welcome to geeks to go!
