I have 2 desktops and 3 laptops in this house (+ 1 on loan) all are on xp pro with the exception of 1, I think its on Media Center. Problem is they are all OEM version OS's. I just bought a pc off ebay and wish to dump the Vista and replace with XP pro. From what I have been reading and I am hoping not to be correct in my assumption, I will be required to buy a copy of XP pro, is this correct?
I take it that I can't even clone the HDD because of the embedded code on the MB, is this correct?

This is exactly why I been trying Linux distros....Bill Gates and M$ don't need anymore of my money.

Hello lamuskrat

All machines must have their own licence key so yes you will need to buy a copy.
