I had a McAfee Security Suite (firewall and antivirus) on my laptop. I learnt here that comodo firewall and Avast Antivirus is recommended as it is better software and takes less resources. McAfee is slow.
Upon taking this advise, I uninstalled McAfee and installed two above software. But now booting up the xp is slow. Takes ~2x-3x as long. I read elsewhere that others were having similar problems running vista.

Is there a fix for this or can you please comment?

thanks.

I should add that I installed malwarebyte's startuplite and it did not find any "other" programs starting up during boot. I have SuperAntiSpyware, avast! and Comodo firewall Pro for startup.
