Sound dont work help plz

Hey G2G

Somtimes my laptop has no sound and i check the volume mixer, it says its properly working. Then i close my laptop and put my fingerprint on for the password. When it turns on it works for a little. Then if i haven't played anything with sounds it stops working for unknown reasons. This has happened way before, but it stopped. Then suddenly it started again.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium
Version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)
Sony
Vaio Model - VGN-CR240E
Ram - 2.0GB

Can anyone help me with this?
