[Chamelion]

A friend of mine recently told me that, when I'm offline, he receives a message from me that contains a link, something along the lines of <name>.thisisyou.com, and told me that I have a virus. I ran a scan through both Norton and Spybot S&D (both up-to-date) and neither detected it.

Hi there, as it has returned I will have a deeper look

Download OTScanit to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

• Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
• Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
• Check the box that says Scan All User Accounts
• Check the Radio buttons for Files/Folders Created Within 90 Days and Files/Folders Modified Within 90 Days
• Under Additional Scans check the following:
  • Reg - BotCheck
  • File - Additional Folder Scans
  • File - Purity Scan
• Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
• Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
• When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
• Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

Please attach the log in your next post.

To attach a file, do the following:

• Click Add Reply
• Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
• Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
• Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
• Click on to insert the attachment into your post

Start OTScanit. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:

• Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
• This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
• Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
• Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
• Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
• Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
• When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
• Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
• Close Dr.Web Cureit.

If I could have the Dr. Webb report and an update on your problems

I can't remember the whole file, but I do remember the pathfile was in a 'temp' folder, with something along the lines of 0021 in the filename.

I'll re-scan to see where it stopped.

Okay, sorry for the long delay. My scanner continued having problems, but I finally got enough files scan to consider it complete (it froze up, again, on a file in a folder on my desktop that, for some odd reason, isn't in my list: U 12 something something?)

The following attachment contains the suspicious files, a couple of which I can identify as actually being safe (mIRC and the pokemoncursor.exe ones, for example) but some of them I wasn't aware had infected files.

As for any recent activity on my MSN, it keeps occuring, but not as often as it used to. I found out from other friends that they had been receiving links from me when I'm offline as well.

Correction. I can't upload the file because I'm getting a message stating that I'm not permitted to upload the file type.
