Hi

I bought a new VGA Card recently with a 5 year warranty and its an ATi Radeon 9600 Pro updated with latest drivers. Recently I've found out that when I use my computer for about an hour or more and then shut it down and then put it on again immediately (or even after 5 minutes) the screen appears like this

This actually started when there was a power surge and I was using the comp with no USP and my comp immediately went off. When I put the comp on after the power came back on, it gave a screen similar to this.

Why is this? And what should I do?

Thanks :)

Your video card has been damaged. I doubt that it can be fixed, so it will need to be replaced. You can try deleting the video drivers and reinstalling the latest drivers, but it probably won't help. Sorry

If you can download any diagnostics from ATI and run them that would probably be the best way to sort things out.

Okay, I have a Warranty anyway so I can probably get it replaced.

Btw If I shut my computer down and If I leave it to cool a little and put it back on again the problems gone and I can do whatever I want and I have never got those lines WHILE using the computer! Only when I put it off and turn it on again immediately.

DO you think its damage? Or Overheating Problems?
