I have Win XP Media Center 2005 on my dell xps m140 laptop. It ran fine for 2 years until I got a virus (I think?). Its name was blueper...joe something and it changed my desktop pic and crippled my system to freezing and crashing after 20 minutes of fighting various pop-ups. Mcafee didnt help (I had it installed when I got infected) and I was advised to do a hard restore (setting my pc back to its default with the saved hard drive). It was work fine for a week and then I kept getting Explorer.exe & Dr watson Post mortem debugger errors. I thought it was new hardware I installed (ea download manager & Sims 2 double deluxe) so I did a hard restore again and even after it kept happening. Also, my Microsoft framework 2.0 will not update at all. I have restarted the system many times and the windows cant do the update, it fails all the time.

I am not sure if its a virus or malware, can anyone help with this situation? Thank you all in advance.
