This is my first post, i had a look through the forums and couldn't find anything that matches up with my specific problem.
My internet connection starts up fine when the computer loads up and connects to the internet skype etc. but once everything loads the connection doesn't work anymore. The local area connection states that it is still connected and that it is running at 100.0 Mbps. This has happened once before and i managed to fix it by removing most of the startup programs and running virus and adware scans, but i wasn't sure how i actually fixed it?
Any help would be great,
Thanks

Lets renew your connection to the gateway.
  • Go to Start -> Run.
  • In the Box, type in "cmd".
  • A black box will appear. Type in: "ipconfig /release".
  • After it is done releasing. Type in: "ipconfig /renew".
  • This should renew your connection with your gateway.
I'd like to see some more information. Please follow the steps below.
  • Go to Start -> Run.
  • In the Box, type in "cmd".
  • A black box will appear. Type in: "ipconfig /all".
  • A lot of information will appear, Please right click the black window and hit mark.
  • Select every line of text you recieved and hit "enter" to copy.
  • Then paste it into your next reply.

Olrik

EDIT: whoops. Got you mistaken with someone else.

unfortunately i still haven't managed to sort out this problem yet, i took my laptop to a local computer shop and was told that i should reinstall windows, the problem being that i have no windows disc as when i bought my laptop i wasn't given one. So i was told that i could pay £45 and they would reinstall it for me but i can't afford this price, does anyone have any alternate suggestions? any help would be much appreciated.
thanks.

I think a repair would do it. But it would need a windows CD.
I ran out of ideas... :)
