My friend has a Dell computer. Her grandson recently downloaded some games from the Internet and, as a result, the sound no longer plays on her computer. It was working fine before the games were downloaded. I checked the Device Manager and everything appeared normal.

Hi,

Have you tried running system restore to restore Windows to a time before the games were installed?

Click start > click programs > click accessories > click system tools > click system restore and follow the on screen instructions.

Click here for more details (using System Restore is about half way down the page).

I tried doing a System Restore but I still didn't get any sound from the system. The games were downloaded on August 5 so I did a restore for August 4.

What are the specs of your PC?
If you don't know then please download and run SysSpec. Run the file > click edit > click copy to clipboard and then paste it with your reply.
