I have a dimension 4600 and I'm currently trying to install a Seagate Barracuda ATA 160GB hard drive into my computer. After I've connected everything properly, when I booted to get to the setup menu I noticed that when I go to the BIOS setup the Primary Hard Drive switched from Hard Drive to Unknown Driver. I didn't think much of it and continued to change the Primary Slave Drive to AUTO, but that also comes up as Unknown Driver. When I do this neither of my hard drives work and a notice says that both of my hard drives are not working. But if I remove the power plug and the data cord from the 160GB hard drive everything works properly except the notice at the boot that states that it cannot find the 160GB hard drive, which is then easily changed when going to the BIOS setup and changing the AUTO to OFF on the Primary Slave Drive. The jumper settings are all correct and I've been searching for hours across the web for a solution for my problem, hopefully someone here can help.
