antivirus2009 and some other bs [CLOSED]

ok this is what happened. this is my brother's computer and he downloaded something or something downloaded itself. dont know which one happened. all i know is there is some antivirus 2009 bs that says he has 400+ viruses on his computer which i know is not true because ive used it before and it ran fine until this thing came up. i ran spybot to see what is on it and it found something called smitfraud and antivirus2009 malware. ive used this forum before when my computer went bad and got some good help. so i thought id try it again. i was wondering if i re-installed his operating system on the computer would everything be fine? here are the logs it says to post.

thanks for replying. here is what u wanted. was wondering if i just reinstall windows with the cd my computer came with would it take care of the problem. if so i would just do that instead of taking up your time.

If you mean doing a complete reinstall of windows, then yes it should take care of your problems. But if you would do that you would lose all of your data you have on that computer.

And don't worry your not taking up my time, we can get your computer fixed up. :)



STEP 1
Please click Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. And remove the following programs.(if present)
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
Java™ 6 Update 4

STEP 2
Download OTViewIt to your desktop.
  • Close all windows and open it
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up called OTViewIt.txt, the other will be saved on your desktop and called Extras. Post both those logs here.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all on the forum
