Here is the Hijack This log file I just created after startup.
Thanks for any help.
I have already run Malwarebytes, SUPERantispyware, CCleaner, RogueRemover, Spyware Doctor, Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware in safe more. None of them have been able to find and remove the trojan. They all were run late last night right after checking for current updates on the web.

Thanks--

Still no responses??
Is it that no-one knows how to eliminate this trojan or just that there are posts in line before mine?
Thanks in advance for any help---

Hi there and sorry for the delay, but we are a tad busy at the moment. I will need a deeper look at your system

Download OTScanit to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
  • Check the box that says Scan All User Accounts
  • Check the Radio buttons for Files/Folders Created Within 90 Days and Files/Folders Modified Within 90 Days
  • Under Additional Scans check the following:
    • Reg - BotCheck
    • File - Additional Folder Scans
    • File - Purity Scan
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Please attach the log in your next post.

To attach a file, do the following:
  • Click Add Reply
  • Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
  • Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
  • Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
  • Click on Posted Image to insert the attachment into your post

Thanks for your help. Here is the OTScanIt file. It went non-responsive just before it finished. (When scanning the Trusted Sites List. This happened three times.)

The .txt file is 802K. I did close every program that was open and shut everything down that was in the toolbar by the clock. So I am attaching it as two files . If you would like me to do something else with it please let me know.Attached File  OTScanIt1.txt   354.64KB   109 downloads

OK then lets try this and see what occurs :)

As a Vista user I will require that all the programmes I ask you to run, be run by right clicking the icon and selecting Run as Administrator. Otherwise some programmes may fail to do their job properly

While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once your HijackThis log is clean.

  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.

Start OTScanit. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new Hijackthis log.

I will review the information when it comes back in.

Also let me know of any problems you encountered performing the steps above or any continuing problems you are still having with the computer.

FINALLY FOR NOW

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.

Thanks for the help. I ran all the fixes and scans you asked for. I already had Malware Bytes on my maching from a few days ago.
Once I completed the scans I also ran a SUPERAntispyware scan. This is the only scan that showed me the Trojan.DNSChanger-codec. This scan showed two trojans, the DNSChanger and the Dropper/Gen.
I was able to find and delete the Dropper/Gen trojan but could not find the DNSChanger. I restarted and ran the SUPERAntispyware scan again and it came back clean, no trojans. I have no idea where the DNSChanger went from one scan to the next. But thanks and hopefully nothing unusual shows up in the log files you asked me to attach.
When I ran the Hijack This is paused again at the 'trusted zone enumeration'.
Attached are the log files.
Thanks!

What programs would you suggest to run on my machine to keep it 'safe' in the future. Previously I ran only Symantec Antivirus. Now I have about 10 different programs on here for malware, spyware and everything else while I was trying to fix this problem.

Hi just to confirm something I would like you to run OTscanit again but with a reduced set of scans. Once I am sure you are clean I will then advise on security :)

As a Vista user I will require that all the programmes I ask you to run, be run by right clicking the icon and selecting Run as Administrator. Otherwise some programmes may fail to do their job properly

As for security, if you suggest a program and I already have it installed should I uninstall it and then reinstall it?
Thanks for your help and future suggestions.

No there will be no requirement for that, just ensure it is updated

Aye I thought so there were two elements that did not want to play, this time they will go :) . You may loose your desktop for the duration of this fix

Start OTScanit. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

[Kill Explorer]
[Registry - Non-Microsoft Only]
< Run [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\] > -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
YN -> aeEDbjAJuN -> %AllUsersProfile%\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe [C:\ProgramData\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe]
< Run [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-789059501-1513016106-3123713937-1000\] > -> HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-789059501-1513016106-3123713937-1000\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
YN -> aeEDbjAJuN -> %AllUsersProfile%\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe [C:\ProgramData\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe]
[Empty Temp Folders]
[Start Explorer]

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new Hijackthis log.

I will review the information when it comes back in.

Also let me know of any problems you encountered performing the steps above or any continuing problems you are still having with the computer.

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean :) The programmes I recommend are sufficient for normal everyday use in conjuction with a firewall and anti-virus

A good workman allways cleans up after himself so...Download and run this small programme and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself

To manually create a new Restore Point
  • Go to Control Panel and select System and Maintenance
  • Select System
  • On the left select Advance System Settings and accept the warning if you get one
  • Select System Protection Tab
  • Select Create at the bottom
  • Type in a name i.e. Clean
  • Select Create
Now we can purge the infected ones
  • Go back to the System and Maintenance page
  • Select Performance Information and Tools
  • On the left select Open Disk Cleanup
  • Select Files from all users and accept the warning if you get one
  • In the drop down box select your main drive i.e. C
  • For a few moments the system will make some calculations
  • Select the More Options tab
  • In the System Restore and Shadow Backups select Clean up
  • Select Delete on the pop up
  • Select OK
  • Select Delete
You are now done

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free program: It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?
Keep safe :)

Thanks for all your help.
After I ran the clean-up program it asked me to restart. I did and SpyBot which is currently installed asked permission to allow a registery change. It wanted to start C:\ProgramData\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe. That folder in ProgramData doesn't exist. I denied but is there still a problem with my system.
Here is a HijackThis log file.

It is because tea timer is to re-instating this malware entry

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [aeEDbjAJuN] C:\ProgramData\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe

So I really do need you to turn off tea timer

THEN

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [aeEDbjAJuN] C:\ProgramData\khslsdor\spwbixqp.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

What problems are you experiencing
