Hi,

Yes, I agree Limewire is probably your issue. P2P is one of the highest risk activities you can do with your PC. While Limewire itself does not contain any malware there are all kinds of infected files waiting to be downloaded. Many of the help sites now require you to uninstall any P2P software before providing help, and if you come back later infected again with P2P installed you are not likely to get help. I would avoid using any form of P2P at all costs.

There shouldn't be anything lurking here if you did a factory restore. If you want, post a fresh HJT log and I'll take a look.

For your microphone issue I'm not sure how much I can help. We do have sections of the forum, this might be a good area if we can't solve it here....

http://www.geekstogo...pherals-f9.html

Have you tried re-installing the drivers for it? Other than that I'm not really sure.

Hi,

Looks clean. One thing I notice now though is you have 2 Anti-virus programs running, Symantec and Avast. This can cause all kinds of issues including system slowdown, conflicts, errors, false positives, ect... You should remove one of them. I assume Symantec came back when you did the system restore?

Other than that how's it running? Still have the microphone issues?

When you say rebooted....do you mean restored? Did you try re-installing the drivers?

A driver is the software that allows the microphone to interact with the computer. It will typically come with the hardware on a CD or DVD. Did you buy the microphone separate from the PC? Or together. Do you have any discs for it? Even if not you can usually download them off the website of the mfg.
