Standby doesn't switch on anymore

Hi,

I've bought a new PC about a month ago and everything was working fine. I used to put it on standby a few times. It used to work fine until about last week when i put it on standby. The PC switched off as normal but when i pressed the on button the PC switched on but shows a black screen with the mouse cursor in the middle or my desktop wallpaper(no icons or anything else) with the mouse cursor in the middle.

How can i fix this so that i can use standby again?
