Hello.. not sure if im posting in the right forum but hope anyone who is reading this would be able to advise me. I have two pcs in my house and yesterday i tried to turn on of of them which was not in use for about a week and the monitor would not detect the cpu (goes into sleep mode).. so i tried opening the cover of the computer to check if everything is intact and switch on my computer again.. this time the monitor is able to detect my cpu but i got a blank screen on my monitor instead :) I have tried switching the monitor to another computer in my house to check if the problem lies with the monitor but it is found to have no faults with it... Oh and one more thing. When i start up the computer and got a blank screen, i realise that when i randomly press any key on the keyboard, the whole computer would restart itself.. any idea how to solve this? :)

does the Power supply fan spin when you power up...
can you see the hard drive LED flicker when you power up...
have you tried booting into safe mode...usually tapping F8 every second or so after pressing the power button...
can you get into the BIOS...usually by tapping the delete key every second or so starting about a second after you power up

you will have to replace the power supply....get one of equal or greater wattage...you can't get to much power
