almost every time I shut down Windows, I get error messages that pop
up that say,

"faxsvc.exe
DLL Initialization failed"

Does anyone know what causes this or how to get rid of it.
In the manage computer under services, it is listed as manual but it seems to be automatically invoked.

Any ideas.

Open Printers and Faxes in Start menu or Control Panel and click "Setup Faxing". This will install the fax service. You will probably need the XP CD for this process.

Thanks. I did it a little differently. Went to system config after right click on my computer. Then to Services and saw the faxsvc. Even though it said manual, which should have meant it only worked when I asked for it (it was opening automatically) I changed it to disable. After that it stopped interfering with my shutdown.
