This is what I plan to get, for a starter PC (Attached). I wanted it to last a while, and be decent all around.
Finally getting my own PC

You may also need a certain amount of Amps on the +12v output, probably around 28A for that video card. I know that 400W wouldn't do that. Some 600W and even up to some of the 1000W power supplies do not offer enough Amps for the mid-to-higher end video cards. So, you must be diligent to be sure you have what you need in that department.
Running a PSU (Power Supply Unit) with less than what is required by the Video Card will cause either 1 of 2 things.
1. You will not see anything on your screen, as the PSU will not have sufficient power to run the Video Card.
2. Your video card will run at specs slower and less than what it says. (Imagine driving an 18-wheeler with a Honda Civic Engine....lol)
Here is a PSU Calculator to get a BASIC idea of what Wattage you need:

You will need a JAVA plugin to run this site...

Also for the hard drive, I'm not sure about the one you selected (manufacturer) but I highly recommend something from Seagate (with 5 year warranty), Western Digital (3 year warranty) or Samsung.

so why are you buying a case with a PSU inside of it? That's a waste of cash, if you ask me. Check out this case...watch the video at the bottom. I just bought this case, and I can say it is awesome as well... I love the modularity of it.

I think I saw it on NewEgg as well...

Bumped the PSU down to 500W to knock off about $25. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817182076
The case does come with a PSU in it, yes, but when I looked at comparable cases without a PSU, they were actually more expensive.
If you can point out a Samsung or Seagate HDD thats about the same size and price, let me know!

Check this:
ThermalTake Case

Also, that new PSU you added...it only has 15Amps on the +12v line. A 9600GT needs at least 24Amps, I believe...maybe even 26Amps...

Brand and Setup: It's a Western Digital hard drive with another name slapped on it! GREAT! The Western Digital software will normally ONLY work with WD hard drives and it detected and set it up just fine. So that put my mind at ease for a company I've never heard of: "Excelstor?"

As I said before, it may run ok, but it will not run at optimum performance. His 9600 is probably running at the equivalent of something between a 8800 and a 9200.

Did you get it from TigerDirect? I just ordered the rest of the stuff for my custom build today and a few of the things say backordered, but it also says they are doing a physical inventory. I just ordered this case last week and they had it, so...I'm sure you'll be fine. Check your order status tomorrow or Sunday, it should be updated....at least we can hope. One major thing for me says backordered....Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit...lol.
