I recently had my Dell Latitude D600 LCD screen replaced because it was scratched and the screen that they have replaced it with has poor color quality on jpgs/photos, while icons and other graphics look fine. Dell has replaced the screen again and it's still doing the same thing.

They are now telling me that the motherboard will need to be replaced, as the video card is onboard, but I've hooked the laptop to an external monitor and the photos look normal. That makes me think that the video card is not the culprit.

I've also updated the video driver and even the BIOS to no avail.

All I can think is that maybe something is not connected properly or perhaps the first tech messed something up. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

try looking at pics online if they look fine then it is probably the quality of the pictures. Probably a bad camera or scanner

nope. that is not it. the pics look fine on any other computer, and in fact from the same computer using an external monitor, as I said in my original post.
