Well, I had gotten some virus' Serial99 for one. Got rid of them. Somehow when I contracted these virus' I lost, my control panel, my recycle bin, task manager etc. I've seen that posting the "Hijack this" log is helpful so heres mine. If anyone can help I would be greatful. TY

Im sorry to be such a dufus. But I have no control panel and no run button thru start menu. If I run combofix. It wont make it so I can't get into ANYTHING at all will it? At this point I havent gotten my pictures off the computer. It wont automaticly reformat or wipe me out??

This BAD information came from my own head LOL I saw that I may have to reconfigure my internet connection. (The message below) Considering I can't get to my control panel I was concerned it may need me to do some other things in "control panel" I can't get to. I did find a way to get to "network connections" thru my help topics. So I can get to that. Just not directly to control panel.
I don't mean to be such a fuss but I use the internet to study daily. I just wanted to be sure. Im anal that way.

If, by some chance, you no longer have access to your Internet connection after running ComboFix then the first thing to try is to reboot your computer. This step alone should fix the vast majority of issues with no Internet connection after running ComboFix. If you still do not have an Internet connection after rebooting then please perform the following steps:

Click on the Start button.

Click on the Settings menu option.

Click on the Control Panel option.

When the Control Panel opens, double-click on the Network Connections icon. If your Control Panel is set to Category View, then double-click on Network and Internet Connections and then click on Network Connections at the bottom.

You will now see a list of available network connections. Locate the connection for your Wireless or Lan adapter and right-click on it.

You will now see a menu similar to the image below. Simply click on the Repair menu option.

Only reason it says that is because to prevent re-infection Combofix will temporarily disconnect your machine from the internet.
It is only temporary and will not cause any harm.
The Control Panel and other items are gone due to the infection Combofix will restore all of those features as well as disinfect your machine so if you are up for it please proceed with Combofix.

Post it's log and a new Hijackthis log.

Please uninstall Mcafee Virus scan and Viewpoint.

Also are you using only the anti-spyware from CYber defender? or the security suite?

If you are using more than one antivirus then uninstall whatever one you do not want to keep.


After that reboot and then go to Start > My Computer > C:\
Then Program Files then delete this folder Viewpoint.

Then Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatley.

I also have this other problem. Ive been trying to install this game for my daughter and it will go all the way to almost the 3rd disc. (the game is Everquest 2) Then I get an error:

As for the game if you need the password then I would try to remember it.
Your log is clean but you show signs of Mcafee virus scan and AVG.
I recommend uninstalling both of those as AVG 7 will no longer be supported very soon.

You can download the new 8.0 version that also comes with an anti spyware shield as well as an antivirus shield.

Please download OT CLeanit from Here save it to your desktop.
Double click on OT Clean it to run it.
Then click on Clean up.
Restart your computer when prompted.

Upgrading Java:

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.
• Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
• Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 7 License Agreement.".
• Click on Continue.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
• Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.
