:) :) ;) :) :) :D :) :D

i did exactly as it said on this

www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-repair-Windows-XP-t138.html

but then it asked me" press enter if you would like to restart or windows will reboot automatically."
i pressed enter then it restarted the computer and then it went into the windows XP installation screen.

is that normal? i am just really scared that if i install windows xp again that all my files will gone and i have not made a back up.

should i just proceed with the installation? is it safe to install windows?or should i go to a computer specialist?
 :)

If you saw a message that said "To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R", and you pressed R, then yes, you're fine. The guide you are using says "Windows XP will appear to be installing itself for the first time, but it will retain all of your data and settings. Just follow the prompts, and have your CD-KEY ready if needed."

If you never saw that message, pressed ESC, or had to take any steps that weren't in that guide, you may have done a full installation, which will delete everything on the hard drive.
