Hello all,

I'm trying to gather printer data off of my school's network (I am the admin) and I'm looking for a program to help me gather the data. Going through the event logs looking at print jobs is a rather consuming gig for a single network admin. Does anyone know any good Open Source, or less than $60 print monitor programs that work? An added bonus would also let me implement print policies to set limits on amount of printing (read: try to stop people from using the printers as copiers). Thanks

We use AD and all of the printers I want to monitor are IBM infoprint 1552 printers. Print limit, the article you linked, looks good but unfortunately I do not have $1,000 to spend on this.
