So...

My HD crashed and so I got a new HD. For some reason, when I try to run the windows install CD, it keeps saying "There is not disk..... F3 to exit...." But when I check the bios, the disk is clearly there. So I took the HD onto computer2 and installed windows onto the HD thinking I could just pop in the windows installed HD into computer1. Well, It did work, for about 2 seconds... It would get to maybe 1/5 of the Windows loading bar then BSOD for like a split second and then restart. That would loop indefinately... Then I tried installing windows again on computer1 but it would say the no disk thing again....
Please help I need this computer for school, and school starts real soon.

I would really like an answer within 7 days... because if I need a new computer... I would like to return this new HD.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. if a mod moves this into another section, please PLEASE PM me first...

Check out this Link
Ive used the first suggestion before and it works. First I reset BIOS to recomended or optimum settings then reboot and try. Then try checking the sata / ide settings.

Wow, thanks for the fast response.
I'll try that technique sometime tomorrow.
My mom wants her monitor back :)

Oh, and does anyone know where to get some LCD monitors?

EDIT:
.... The bios settings didn't have anything on sata/raid.... where can I a "SATA RAID" driver for my computer?

Your bios may not have it. It was kinda a shot in the dark.

Is this an IDE or SATA hard drive?

For LCD monitors I have really good luck with Newegg and Tigerdirect

This is an Hitachi 500gb SATA HD.
I don't think my bios has this option...
I don't seem to have a floppy drive either.

In the BIOS there should be a way to set it to Legacy mode.

ThisLink describes some of the issues you are having. Ive seen it called Legacy Compatibility mode.

Please Expand the Drives Section in the BIOS, then to SATA Operation. Make sure that the option selected is ATA, not AHCI. Although without your system model I can't tell you the exact option.
