Internet connection down!

the last 2 days i have problem with my internet connection(ADSL @2Mbps) using Windows XP SP3. To be more specific my computer connects to the internet(according to the notification bubble that appears and the connection icon that shows active connections) but neither firefox 3 nor internet explorer can browse pages. Plus, I cannot seed torrents or update my anti virus and anti-spyware.

I did the following:

1.I have checked all the cable and usb connections of the modem and the telephone line and they are ok,
2.My modem works perfectly,(Using Ubuntu Linux I can connect to without problems)
3.The ISP(OTEnet from Greece) has no problem with its connetions
4.I don't use any firewall program other than the Windows Firewall(from the control panel)
5.I performed antivirus(Avira) and anti-spyware(Spyware doctor) scannings with no results
6.I even reinstalled the modem's drivers and my internet connetion settings with no results

So, after excluding possible hardware problems and ISP problems I believe that there is something to do with Windows settings, but I don't know what. Do you have any suggestions what to do? Is there any case that these are caused by some sort of virus that could not be detected?
