So yesterday I am working on my IBM T42P, never had an issue before, run Symanytec Anti V...

I try to reboot and I get a popup that says I do not have the permissions to reboot... I take it down hard and bingo, cannot boot into the OS. I get a blue logon screen and then a dialog with the message "bass.exe - and something about memory space.

Is there any way to recover?

I am really stuck and fear the worst.
