I was referred here by GeekU Teacher. We have been working on an issue with my desktop and he/she was unable to help me resolve. It started when I had a virus that infected my computer. The infection had put a "Virus Alert" tag next to my computer clock. In the process of cleaning my computer, something toggled my desktop. My desktop no acts like a folders menu. there seems to be two "areas" on my desktop. If I try to move items from the left side of my desktop to the right side, it creates a shortcut instead of moving the icon. I know this may seem hard to understand. I think the "Common Task Pane" is present on my desktop. We tried a series of fixes but could never make it go away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
