Site Advisor help please

I use Firefox and have downloaded Site Advisor but it does not seem to work. It previously used to when I was able to open new windows with the Ctrl+N key option, but now that I have to open new windows with Ctrl+T, Site Advisor has vanished.

Please help.

ctrl +T gives a new tab in the existing window.
ctrl +N gives a tab in a new window.

In my firefox, ctrl +T gives me an untitled tab and Mcafee siteAdvisor is grey because there is no site open.

It all depends on how firefox opens. New window can be "home page" or "blank page"
