I've tried everything I know. (I may not know much though)

New laptop, came with Vista 64. Once all configured, repeated blue screens pointing towards graphic card (dump was ati-something)

Reinstalled drivers (all of them) then restored system - concluded X64 was not stable. Reinstalled Vista 32. same deal same order.

One odd thing is when installing video driver, at the extracting stage at about 40%, at the file TVW_USB_ID.MSI gives me a message (Access Denied) then closes and start the installer from ATI.

Among other problems, usb driver fails alot. Video driver will flicker dual screen for about 3 or 4 times then I get the dreaded blue screen...

I thought blue screens were extinct by now...

Anyone have ideas to try?

Thank you,

Mathieu

Is the date of the driver? If not, see if you can update it (unplug all USB peripherals):

Thanks, actually I got the on right off the HP site for my exact model number. I felt pretty safe it was the latest one. To answer your question, version is 4.0.100.1189.

Anything newer out there?

Thanks,

M.
