just installed new used 20gig hardrive into my older p3 computer and its not being reconized so i cant install windows... How do i get my computer to reconize the hardive.

As per the information you have provided, it appears the 20gb HDD is the only HDD in your computer.

Try These Steps and report.

• Please Check the Cables that are connected properly to the Hard disk
• Please Check the Jumper settings

Please check the jumper settings for the harddrive.
u must have tried to use the HDD as slave(no jumper at all) when u dont have a primary drive. set your jumper settings and make the hdd primary.
Your HDD should work. Have a look at the following image:

If both doesnt work then your drive may be faulty

thanx lol just tried a dif copy of xp and it seems to be working fine now all installed up and running
