This morning, I booted up my laptop for a road trip: I loaded Google Maps and put my lappy in the backseat, in case we needed it.

A couple of hours later, I check my laptop, and although it is quite hot (indicating activity), it is not on, and does not power on. "I will check this later," I think.

Upon returning home, Windows XP Pro (a downgrade from Vista), will not load---it only reboots. I tried using a recovery disk to repair the installation (I was going to do chkdsk /p), but it says that "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer."

That is inconvenient.

So I really don't know what I've done. This is a Nobilis laptop, if that is of any help.

Thanks!
