Ive been trying to connect my xbox360 with my pc to transfer media. It connects to xbox live with no problem by using an ethernet cable. after going through a bunch a posts here and spending hours on xboxs website trying to figure it out, im still unable to get it to work. can anyone help me out??

hmm... new I should have saved the link. Found a good site a while back that had good info. I assume by media you mean videos. I'll cover music as well just to be safe

I followed the steps and downloaded the program. when i got to step three and accesed the video section on my xbox it asked me to select console or computer. I selected computer and it continued to test media connection. The ip adress is confirmed but at the pc selcted test it fails.

is this from the xbox or the pc that you get this error?

Have you gone to your pc, under media player, and checked your media sharing?

yes Im using windows media player 11. i go to media sharing and it gives me the option to check the share media box but doesnt show the xbox
