Hi guys

I am running Vista Home Premium and trying in vain to install Windows Live Messenger. I have tried using the link in the computer to access the installer as well as just downloading it directly from Windows Live Services site.

Anyhoo everything goes swimmingly and seems to be installing until Messenger installs up to 99% and then just hangs there. Last attempt was waiting over 45 mins and just gave up! It must be a common problem as a google search shows a lot of others with the same problem but no idea how to fix it.

I have stopped my AV and Firewall but this makes absolutely no difference. I am also doing the Run as Administrator to get it started.

Any clues?
