We were never successful in connecting our laptop to the hotel's ethernet. In the process, we followed a cheat sheet the hotel provided (as we really don't know what we were doing!) and performed a release and renew of the IP address. Now back home and unable to connect to our wireless internet.

Ethernet adater Local Area Connection:
Media State ... Cable Disconnected

When I type in ipconfig/release, I get:
No operation can be performed on adapter Local Area Connection as this connection has its media/cable disconnected.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed from here? I'm sure you probably need more information. Just let me know what that is.

Thanks! (P.S. The OS is Windows 2000)

Please disregard. We got lucky and figured it out. Thanks anyway.
