Ive searched and cant find any other software

Maybe this is whats causing my pc to be so slow???????

What antivirus have you been using before?
Are you trying to install AVG 8.0?
That particular version has been having a lot of problems from get go.

I had AVG8 and it kept saying the link scanner was corrupt so I uninstalled it and reinstallied it again, thats when I get the message saying an antivirus program is already installed

I've been AVG user for number of years, until version 8.0 came out. I'm pretty experienced computer user, and I had a heck of a time to install that thing on my XP, and Vista computers. Then, Ive read of many other problems related to this particular version of AVG, and I simply said: Goodbye, it's not worth my effort.
I installed Avast on Vista, and Avira on XP. Both free. I'm happy camper now...
