It was infected with some pop up malware but we managed to get rid of that stuff using spybot etc...
It is running very slow now.
I ran hijackthis and noticed that it is showing 5 sessions of iexplore.exe even though I don't have any internet explorer windows opened.
The other thing that is weird is when the computer is started up the task bar covers have the screen and is green. We can minimize the task bar but nothing is showing up on the task bar. To open programs we have to press the windows button to get the start/menu screen. When an application is opened it does not show on the task bar.
