I am not a Geek yet, but I have spent much time trying to figure out what has suddenly gone wrong, and miracle I found this site and am hoping that someone else has had this problem and can help me
Every time I start up I get a message that the computer is wanting to install Sonic Update and it won't let me do anything else.
In the process of trying to get rid of it, or because of the last update, my Microsoft works is somehow lost, but I cannot fix it because of the Sonic problem. I know someone knows if Ineed it, but I don't.
I am so counting on the fact that most of the people on this are smarter and more experienced than i.
SO HELP. Thanks much

Hello Jochannah...

Open Control Panel and double click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. In the list of programs, find Sonic Update Manager and uninstall it.

Sonic Update Manager is a part of CD burning software that comes pre-installed on some OEM machines. Dell does this a lot. It's not a necessary program and is not required for the software to work properly.
