How old are you children, and what's their level of computer knowledge?

two teenage boys (ages 14 &16) and a 11 year old girl.
their computer knowlodge isn't that good as when i have any problems on the pc and ask their help they're as blank as me

Any of the major Interenet filtering programs should meet your needs pretty well. CyberPatrol, NetNanny, and CyberSitter are the major programs. They all do a pretty job, but none are perfect. Some inappropriate material may get by, and some legitimate material may get blocked. Such is the state of Internet filtering technology today.
Also, check if your ISP offers a filtering service. Often it's kept more up-to-date, and will probably be cheaper too. AOL and MSN also offer very good filtering. Unfortunately, I don't know of any good free software.

thanks for that. i never thought of checking my own isp and if the other ones are worth looking into i don't mind paying even if it only gives a certain amount of protection, so i'll check them out. thanks again your helps' much appreciated.
