Hey all,
Here's a strange one...to me anyway.
Trying to help a friend with her PC and the monitor keeps resizing itself. Comes up fine on boot then (no rhyme, reason or consistant time period) snaps to a view with about an inch or so of black on each side of the screen. Height remains the same. After awhile it jumps back to normal; then back to squeezed; then normal; then...
Does this at 16, 24, and 32 bit res. Firefox, IE6, Word, etc. [bleep]; even does it to the desktop.
Any ideas?
Buy a new monitor? Buy a new vid card? Take it out back and shoot it? Don't get talked into trying to help a friend again?

Any help much appreciated.
