word 2007 prints very slow

running XP but printing from word 2007 takes up to 3 min. PDF and Excel seem faster.

Any fixes , solutions

What are the specs of your computer: Ram size and CPU type.

AMD Athlon 64x2 dual and 2 Gb RAM - I have used CC cleaner and defragged but have not carried out a memory test for some time - what do you suggest as my steps to take? as you have given a number of suggestions

The solutions offered by the link given by Broni should be tried even though they were written for older Office versions. I wouldn't do anything with the registry. Just uninstall and reinstall the printer.

If that doesn't help and if you have Office 2003 install it and see if things work better.Office 2007 is a huge program with it's own share of problems that most users don't benefit from.

have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and it is the same running word 2003

Go to control panel > administrative tools > services.Print Spooler should be Stated, Automatic. Please check. If not set correctly set it right.

I took the plunge and reinstalled XP which fixed the ptoblem
