The following updates for windows vista basic will not install on my laptop. Have tried repeatedly with no success. Any help would be great...

I've had a similar problem occur with two machines that had XP. Here is a link that helped:

The second solution worked for me. I don't know if it will work for Vista. The problem occurs when the update process changes the link to the installer so a force install of the update installer was needed to repair the link.

That linked with your last response worked and I was able to install all updates...tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP

Recently tried to install sp1 and get this error message 80073712 so if you have any info on that it would be welcomed
