Hi......I am trying to reinstall XP on my Dell Inspiron 1000. I have my reinstallation CD that came with the computer. The computer will boot from the CD, it goes through all the "loading" procedures at the bottom of the screen, but when it gets to the "setup" screen, the computer powers down. I have punched the "enter" key, just as soon as the setup screen comes up, and I have tried punching the "enter" key continuosly before the setup screen comes up, but the computer still powers down. I have tried it at least 15 times, hoping that it would finally go on, but to no avail. Anybody had this happen, and know of a fix?
Thanks,
Steve Bauer

Try CD on another computer.
It may be CD drive fault, as well.
