So yeah, recently ive been getting these popups saying 'Out of Memory in Line: 1'. i checked the event viewer>> system and not sure if this is the problem causing it..

"TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent (incomplete) TCP connect attempts."

when i click on start, it doesnt show the programs, run, help and support, etc. it only shows the above 'program' options.

Thanks :)

Hi animefreak , couple of questions .

" ...So yeah, recently ive been getting these popups saying 'Out of Memory in Line: 1'. i checked the event viewer>> system and not sure if this is the problem causing it..

"TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent (incomplete) TCP connect attempts."

Could you explain the 'Popup' in a bit more detail ? Is it on your screen , or in the Taskbar ... ?

The connection limit is established by Microsoft to 10 connections at a time ... some applications , like for example filesharing tools can use up all these connections causing the event ID 4226 , the system is telling you the connection limit has been reached . Is the System Event ID 4226 ? Are you using a P2P program when the popup occurs ?

As far as the Start Menu try right clicking on a unused portion of the Taskbar , in the Menu choose "Properties" . This should open the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties box . You can customise the Start Menu from here .

Let us know what is happening , thankyou !

well the popup just basically has the text, Out of Memory in Line: 1 on the screen. and then it asks if i want to send an error report.

Is the System Event ID 4226 ? Are you using a P2P program when the popup occurs ?

no, i am not using a P2P program when the popup occurs.

its not the customising problem, like when i click start, the shutdown doesnt appear either. and sometimes when i open my computer, the file, edit, view, etc toolbar doesnt show.
i sometimes have to close down a few windows in order for the toolbars, and start button to get working.

This could be the result of a limit Microsoft introduced in SP-2 to slow the spread of malware. Please use the link below to the malware forum and run all preliminary tests. Please report your finds.

i am not using a P2P program when the popup occurs

Do you use P2P at all?
Did you applied any TCP/IP patches to increase number of half-open connections?

What I asked you to report is if the scans found any serious malware (tracking cookies are of no importance). Malware scans are so basic in checking such problems. You have to make sure the computer is clean.

HJT logs are only placed in the malware forum. What I am trying to see if there are any bugs. If there are, I'll ask you to post HJT log there and clean the computer first. Only then, if the problem persist, post back here.

That's fine. It means, you, most likely, didn't install any patches :)

You did the barest minimum. Malwarebytes should allow to run a complete test. Antivirus must be allowed to run a complete test. What firewall are you using?
