WinXP Pro slow to boot

My PC is running Win XP Pro with all updates applied. Up until a few days ago the pc would boot fine and fairly quick. I have noticed that over the past week the pc seems to hang for approx 1 minute on the XP logo screen before it continues to boot and does so without further issue. Any suggestions?
